We Should Not be Remembered for the Wrong Reason.'

Come the time we all have to meet the utmost supreme judge of all, the Almighty, even for some who may not believe in Him but still would be judged by Nature, is not Both the same? Of a certainty, He is the fairest of all judges and the passed 'powerful' earthly judges and dictators shall verily receive the judgment they deserve.
Could it be the Almighty is giving a reminder to whom it may concern to be fair in his up coming judgement? May he be guided by the righteous alignment of his faith.

God vs Religion

The Abrahamic faiths all believe that there is only one God. That makes it easy. However, there are three Abrahamic faiths and many more branches and sub-branches of these three faiths. And each of these faiths, branches and sub-branches claims that it is the only true faith and that all the others are false. That makes it complicating.

by Raja Petra Kamarudin

Read more here.

Some interesting comments to ponder!

God Who created everything cannot be man made but religions are man made. For only with man are there religions. How can man made the mountains and all there is? By chance? Evolution? That exactly is God and you know not. Do you think that God had a brain, two hands and two legs? God is all powerful . He can take what ever forms He wishes.
All religions are created by man and are supposed to guide man in this life and many are hijacked and abused by men for their own gain or blindly following them out of fear or are deceived. Religions are teachings but knowing God and walking with Him, no teachings can teach but by love and compassion for all there is. .
...
Well religion came about when men were primitive.
Now that men are educated they can think.
So they will eventually come to a revelation that they are a colony of microbes in the sewage of the universe.
But GOD is good business. You know a lot of people survive doing whatever with it. Lets not deprive their livelihood. This is as far as GOD can go, I guess.
...
People who believe in Gods are cowards using God to frighten others into submission. Just look around our world. Some cowards when they are in majority who profess certain religion will kill in the name of God. When you isolate these cowards they will be as tame as a kitten.
...
Believing in God, The Force, The Energy, The Structuredness, sets you free. Believing in Religions enslaves you. All Religions are man made. I am not a Religionist.
...
If at all these are the doings of God to prove of his existence, this God must be crazy then to have put us in such a deplorable situation. Let's face it, we are bonded slaves in the name of religions and for all things craving in our pursuits for spiritual and materialistic gains here now and the aftermath. Is this the ultimate truth leading to the liberation of mankind and all living species and, if so, liberated from what and from whom? This is the question that begs reckoning!
...
The backbone of religion is the unwavering belief in one God. Their basis is on "faith" in the absence of proof. Atheists get attacked most just because they do not believe in God. It's the way some of us are wired genetically. Some of us (minority) always ask a lot of questions (challenging ones) but most people just accept & embrace what they are being told. Religion requires unquestioning obedience, but not all of us will just take it lying down. The more I look at the ugly world around us, the more convinced I am that God is man-made and religion is a mass control tool (very effective one).
...
When I was a small kid, to be exact in Primary school, one of my classmates told me, religion is like a dog tag. You have your dog tag, he has one, and I also have one. And we are so proud to display our tags. As an adult(old now), pride has nothing to do with religion to me. But alas, we still see so many people displaying their dog tags with pride and willing to kill the other guy, if that guy so much as comment unfavourably on his dog tag(religion).
I have always written that if these prophets of old were to return in their orginal form and declare that they are the prophets of old come to clear up things, nobody will believe them.
...
Sometimes I find it amusing and silly for people to argue over God and profess that their faiths are the true faiths, so much so that they behave as though they are God reincarnates and do or say things that are against the norms, practices and customs in society.
Cant we allow ourselves to practice and have the freedom to choose how we wish to practice our faith in peace???
...
It must be hard to be a God in this complex world.
What a mess God has done to this world. And we are stuck in this battle between the God and the Satan.
I wish God has not created all these and leave the way things were and God can relax and do whatever he/she wants.. Take a vacation, may be?
...
It is interesting that Malaysians have very little to do with the root of the Abrahamic faiths in the Middle East (we are not Jews, Palestinians, Arabs, etc.) and yet we argue about religion with more fervor than most of them.
...
Religion is created by man in the name of god to control mankind. It is the greatest tool where no force or power is necessary to influence and control a society to confirm to a certain doctrine that may suit the society at the relevant time. While religion teaches many good things (the selling point) it also teaches man "us against them" mentality.
...
I believe in A GOD for the core of my existence in mind, body and soul. Without my believe in God, I am devoid, soulless and lifeless. But I certainly have no need to put a name to my believe in God. I don't need to label myself a Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu etc, etc. and I most certainly don't need to be in a mosque, church, temple or a synagogue for me to touch base with God daily. I am absolutely at peace.
...
The only truth in religions is that god exists. Everything else is lies and nonsense!
...
God does exist but man has usurped the power of God in His Name by creating many dos and don'ts to control the masses like compliant little mindless sheeps. Anyone that does not comply or simply questioned them is condemned or even put to death violently. Sometimes I wonder if these people are the servants of Satan by their actions and agenda. God is all loving and forgiving but these people preaches hate and killing. Go figure. smilies/tongue.gif

Kah..Kah..Kah... is a trademark of ...

Possibly many know whose trademark of Kah..Kah..Kah... belongs to.

I like it very much the first time I entered his blog and read through to the end of an interesting and hilarious but stinging article written by him. Usually he would end up with his article with this phrase.... kah..kah..kah...

Another favourite term commonly used by him is ...woit!
And off course the gerombolan.

Who else if not Hishamuddin Rais, the hilarious social activist, well known for his struggle for the tertindas people of Baling during the 70s.

Everyone who is interested to read his mind can get into his blog Tukar Tiub here. You might also highly possible to end up learning aplenty new meaning of the old Malay vocabulary and don't mention the new invention of vocab. by him.

Earth-Like Planet Found!

Space Telescope Spots 'Earth-Like' Planet 600 Light Years Away

This artist's conception illustrates Kepler-22b, a planet known to comfortably circle in the habitable zone of a sun-like star. It is the first planet that NASA's Kepler mission has confirmed to orbit in a star's habitable zone - the region around a star where liquid water, a requirement for life on Earth, could persist. The planet is 2.4 times the size of Earth, making it the smallest yet found to orbit in the middle of the habitable zone of a star like our sun. Scientists do not yet know if the planet has a predominantly rocky, gaseous or liquid composition. It's possible that the world would have clouds in its atmosphere, as depicted here in the artist's interpretation.

P/S: How nice if the so-called idealists especially the self-proclaimed 'religio-idealist' who find themselves can't accept with the going on surround them or wish to be on their own without even a single being different from them, can transport themselves to this new world (since they can't get rid of with the many kinds of infidels surround them) and then without delay proclaim 'this is our world, no infidel must be in' and then start their kind of idealism which they so hard up for! May the Almighty grant their wish.... look much like the world after next life.....kah..kah..kah..

How About if the Person is Just an Ordinary Guy?

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 — The National Registration Department (JPN) apologised today for denying Perlis Mufti Dr Juanda Jaya’s daughter of an identity card, and for stating that she was not a Malaysian citizen.

“JPN apologises for the inconveniences that Dr Juanda Jaya had to go through at the Kuching, Sarawak JPN counter following the inability of the staff to explain the department’s procedure.

Read more here.

P/S: Hard luck for the JPN because they have poked into an hornet nest! But what would be the situation if the mufti were just a plain Mr. in front of his name and without any position or in general, the person were just an ordinary citizen who has nothing to show and shout about, nothing till the little napoleons can easily bullying them around, what so, to be noted by the media. Even if the little citizen were to shout, no one would be bothered!

Perhaps this is another reason why everyone wants to climb up the ladder of power so that one would not be taken lightly, not to be bullied around, media will take note of their outburst etc.

Budaya Pak Turut Keterlaluan

Kah..kah..kah..

So Plastic! - Human's Hypocricy

JOHOR BARU: An unemployed man was jailed two years for stealing six boxes of shampoo worth RM107.40 at a supermarket. Read more here.

SHAH ALAM: A former Selangor MB was found guilty today of abusing his influence to buy a luxury home and land at a discount of up to RM3 million. The judge sentenced the former MB to 12 months’ imprisonment and ordered the seizure of the property. Read more here.

P/S: Surely this is one of the reasons everyone wants to fight to get up to the top of the ladder. Beside to show off and to feel damn great of genius or having super IQ, it has the huge unseen privilege to abuse and be abusive. Those who hold power seem to be making themselves look strong with the ciput but making themselves look so small like Tom the Cat when dealing with those who they see more powerful than them, but then every moment selling God's name for cover up.

Many ridicule the Jews for their Zionism but what's the different when one is practicing or having the mindset of something like that or as small as postulated above.

More disgusting when it is said and done in the name of God. Perhaps, God is not color-blind but also sees colours, that's why He created so many colours... Then, one will proudly takes out the words of God... He created us in many colours for us to see and to appreciate the beauty of the various colours... rhetorically fantastic! But, due to greed, lust and power, all those God's words are nonsense! Merely as a privilege to disguise! But again, some who are in the same boat will buy it and be the diehard followers, humiliating fellow human being to satisfy their greed, lust and fantasy....

Kah..kah..kah..

December 19, 2011

Kim Jong-Il died of heart attack, son heir apparent.

SEOUL: North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has died aged 69 of a heart attack, state media announced Monday, plunging the impoverished nuclear-armed nation into uncertainty.

The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the leader “passed away from a great mental and physical strain” at 8:30 am on Saturday while on a train for one of his “field guidance” tours.

It urged people to follow Kim’s youngest son and heir apparent Kim Jong-Un, who is aged in his late 20s.

Watch Comet Lovejoy Plunges Toward The Sun and Survive!

Comet Lovejoy Survives Fiery Plunge Through Sun, NASA Says

A newfound comet defied long odds on Thursday (Dec. 15), surviving a suicidal dive through the sun's hellishly hot atmosphere, according to NASA scientists.

Comet Lovejoy plunged through the sun's corona at about 7 p.m. EST (midnight GMT on Dec. 16), coming within 87,000 miles (140,000 kilometers) of our star's surface. Temperatures in the corona can reach 2 million degrees Fahrenheit (1.1 million degrees Celsius), so most researchers expected the icy wanderer to be completely destroyed.

But Lovejoy proved to be made of tough stuff. A video taken by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spacecraft showed the icy object emerging from behind the sun and zipping back off into space.

To the Warlords & Power Crazy Heads - People Have Changed!

"..... the people have changed and these changes are not only related to politics or elections as the change is happening on a bigger scale..... The important word now is participation as they want to get involved in the decision-making process..... they want their voices to be heard, their roles recognised and their problems or issues resolved in reality.... and they want to do things differently,”

They Are Hardly Any Idiots Left In Malaysia

Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today that the government must adapt to the changing environment and respond to an electorate that is increasingly intelligent.

"Today in this age, we are dealing with a very clever opposition. They are willing to question you, if they are not happy with what you do."

He joked that it was much more convenient for the people to be "slightly less intelligent" as they would not question the government but the reality is that intelligent people are required for the people's development.

"You can imagine there are hardly any idiots left in Malaysia, this gives the government a headache.

A Coincidence Ordained By God?

by zorro-unmasked

Read more here.

The caricature shown on the left obviously have stolen my interest where the black figure with the long hat, supposedly referring to a devil (who might be the person or persons?) were shown doing the work of splitting a member of a church and a member of a mosque.

According to zorro-unmasked this is similar to the work by individuals and groups bent on ensuring that unity amongst Muslim and Christians is a no-no.

What else can they do so that you come to hate me and I reciprocal it but for them to hold on to the reign of power and wealth.

Since they seem to be devils, surely they have plenty of 'black' ideas. But are we going to be so weak, physically, emotionally and brain power, till to be taken into their traps!

‘Political Reality’ to have Malay PM

Political Reality to have Malay PM - LGE

Read more here.

And this is an interesting comment by Ahmad Sobri (edited) ·

Malaysians, in particular the Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans had never demanded the PM's post! It is just a vicious lie by a certain political party to scare the Malays, and certain component of the non-Malay parties jumped on the band wagon to promote this LIE!

Malaysians had never fought over the post and Malaysians always understand the post is only relevant if given to a Malay. What the Malaysians particularly of the minority groups are demanding is that there is good governance. They want corruptions that is going on at an enormous scale to stop. They demand, equality before the law, they want justice and respects to be restored in every institution of the Government that had been raped by the current administration! They want accountability to the billions they pay in income tax!

Sometimes it is difficult to be a Malay in Malaysia, especially during the current political scenario, when the Government is spreading all sorts of lies and making use of race and religion to the core to score political points with the Malays! But, what is happening at NFC and Felda are going to have a telling effect come PRU 13! The young voters will be decisive and the good thing about it is that they are very aware of political happenings and at current level it is 70% pro PR, 20% undecided and 10% pro BN! The young voters understand that the Chinese, Indians, Ibans or Kadazans had never demanded the PM's post! Only, they are the words of politicians! Selamatkan Malaysia, Bangsa Malaysia!

Minority races had never demanded the PM's post.

It is the work of the sycophant parties to divide and rule the country. They use the above to make the Malays go against the Chinese in particular. Just what had the Chinese done, besides, building the country, to deserve such shallow political tactics? And the most disgraceful thing is that you have parties which claim to represent the Chinese to work hand in gloves to perpetuate their lies and sins!

Banana People, OCBC ...Kah..Kah..Kah... All This While This Is What I've Meant

So I am not alone and also not crazy when I whacked my own kind for their extreme ethnocentric. Look like having superiority complex but with deeper analysis seem to be insecure with their own inferior complex thus creating a situation which they think they are good at which artificially helps to project their superiority but actually lack in their own ability. Like when they brand their own kind who is not well verse in a certain dialect included Mandarin but they themselves also not good at it but only their own dialect, worse not well verse at all in English, the accepted international language, thus covering their own lack of ability by branding their own kind who is now an international community as banana fellow!

Usual Disguising or Camouflage Act

Another weakness in decision making process.
Another stupid testing ground to gauge people's feeling, judgement and reaction.
Another sandiwara to boast artificial self good image or fake high ability to listen and to consider people's reaction by reversing the decision.
Another syok sendiri and arrogance decision to show but to abuse it's administrative power.

The same pattern also exhibited at the implementation level but here it's worse because the little napoleons seem to be mute but very highly syok sendiri and easily get irritated due to their own perception that their power being challenged.

Lies, Lies, Lies (2)

And it is continuing and by those who like to portray themselves as highly educated, intellect with high academic achievement from the so-called reputable academic institution and high professional standard with exclusive professional or political titles in front or behind their names and 'piously' acting but morally - decaying to the core with continuous and blatant lies which is not correlated with the high reputation and standard they seek to be.

The latest lie, read here.

Some significant comments:

For him to stoop so low to write "... sebab nak ganti dengan Kampung Buah Dada" is unbecoming of an MP and a so-called graduate of Oxford University. The university would be ashamed if they know of his low mentality here.

Decent Malaysians are fighting a tough moral battle against the morally bankrupt politicians but rich in funding. May we continue to stand firm & guard against unscrupulous politicians out to score political points at the expense of innocent people & children. If we continue to trade our moral ground for short term momentary gain, we will pay the price of moral & economical decay for electing the wrong leaders.

Saved by your naively and stupidly generosity, he declared, I humbly to remain your president.

Now you the stooges say it loudly, could it be again your most apparent character, that is rhetoric, hinting to him to step down or be ship out. But he is now fighting you back by declaring I shall remain the president to the next chapter.

Cambodia bans its citizens from working as domestic helpers in Malaysia

PETALING JAYA - The dire shortage of maids affecting some 35,000 families has taken a turn for the worse with Cambodia springing a surprise ban on its citizens working as domestic helpers in Malaysia.

This comes three days after Indonesia announced that a moratorium on sending its maids had not been lifted pending a proper framework being put in place.

A Reuters report from Phnom Penh yesterday said Prime Minister Hun Sen made the decision after expressing disappointment with alleged incidents of beatings and rape of Cambodian maids by their Malaysian employers.

The report quoted Cambodia's Community Legal Education Centre, which helps abused domestic workers, as saying at least three maids were killed in Malaysia, and two raped and kept in isolation. Their passports were also withheld by their employers.

Cambodian recruitment agencies had earlier this year decided not to send maids to Kuwait after complaints of abuse by employers there.

The ban has major implications on Malaysian families as many employers turned to Cambodian maids following Indonesia's freeze on their domestic workers.

Some comments:

  • A good lesson for Malaysia. Leave them to so their own house work, instead of working out in the gym and spending time at the beauty parlour or shopping center.
Relearn time management and do away with many unnecessary. It will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

  • Premier Hun Sen had made the right decision. Some Bolehland people are still keeping in their mindsets that maids are slaves and they can do whatever they want unto the slaves!

  • That`s the right thing to do. For as long as the law on foreign maids does not cover a wide range of issues that can affect the welfare of foreign maids in Malaysia, no country should risk sending maids to Malaysia. Cruelty to foreign maids is a never ending story, even if it involves a small proportion. Why we should treat a fellow human as a sub-standard specie is beyond comprehension.

  • Employers should be more humane towards their maids. They are here to earn a living. They are not slaves and have dignity.

State of Denial

Mahathir warns of a "great" and "long" financial crisis"

KUALA LUMPUR — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad warned the ongoing global economic crisis will continue long into the future as the West continues spending in a “state of denial.”

The former prime minister said that Western countries continue “believing that they can somehow continue to remain rich. They are unable to behave like poor people.”

On the same day Datuk Seri Najib Razak tabled a budget that aims to rein in the deficit to 4.7 per cent, Dr Mahathir said the West “will not recover because they are still in a state of denial.

“They still believe they are rich, as rich as before they plunged into the crisis. They must keep up the big power wealthy country image even if their people have no jobs, riot and protest.

“How nice it would be if our pocket is picked, we are allowed to print some money to replace what is lost,”

P/S: Perhaps Dr. M intended to refer this kind of mentality to some local people who are now in power and may be also in the state of denial.

Asia Must Not Follow West Example Blindly!

THE mobile phone has become ubiquitous and underpriced, and can be free nowadays, while the toilet has become a luxury item," said the author of a book which warned Asia against following the West' consumption-led growth.

Chandran Nair of the social venture think tank Global Institute For Tomorrow and author of Consumptionomics: Asia's Role in Reshaping Capitalism and Saving the Planet, said if global consumption keeps on growing, the results would be "catastrophic".

Asia will shape the 21st century, but it will absolutely create a catastrophic outcome if it continues to follow the "Western narrative of consumption led-growth".

To avoid this, people are going to need to restrict consumption, which would mean tough rules.

"In the next 40 years, the Asian population would rise to 5.5 billion. The consuming classes that are consuming at the equivalent of the average American is actually about 600 million people in Asia. With 600 million people consuming today, unless you are blind, you will notice that we have ravaged the world, we have externalised cost enormously and now are we imagining that in the next 40 years, another four billion people can consume like this and not worry that things will go absolutely haywire?"

He cited figures from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), whose members include high-income economies, showing that car ownership levels are about 750 cars per a thousand people. China, being the world's largest car market, has 150 cars per thousand people and in India it is just 30. What would happen if Asians started buying cars, he asked.

"If China and India started to have car ownership, anything like the OECD in 2050, do you know how many cars we would have in the world? We'll have three billion cars," he said.

The notion that the world can "green" this "problem" is naive. "The world's most advanced automotive industry outside of Japan is Germany, and in Germany there are 40 million cars, how many 'green' cars are there in Germany? Less than 5,000," he said. Because of the rare earth metals that would be needed to produce hybrids or green cars, only the rich can afford these cars, he said.

Nair said the reason the world is going through this slowly faltering state is that for the past few centuries, the global economy has been shaped by the Western business model of consumption-led growth.

The world needs a plan, he said. And there needs to be a strong government to come up with policies that will weigh the options for the "principles of collective welfare" rather than the "individual rights", he said.

"We have the perception that somehow free markets will solve this problem, and we have a suggestion that finance will help solve this problem. It will not solve this problem," he said.

Technology won't be much help, noting that in certain cases it even aided and further ravaged available resources. "Fisheries is an example, once we intervened, technology is going to help with radar and so on, so that we can further rape the oceans."

People should realise that there are limits and that if people understand the limits, then they will have to understand that there should be equitable access to resources, he said.

"All I am saying is, look at the facts, look at where you are staying and look how the majority live, and what are we going to do about this, and therefore we need very strong governments who are not usurped by private interest," he said.

In this day and age, there are governments which have become weak because they believe that the markets will solve the problems.

Not Matter What, Where, Why, Who & How, One Constantly Need To Be Alert

It's Not the Matter of Race but Rather the Work Done

Why bother of what race the politician who should represent us in the state assembly or parliament. Also, why bother if none of my race were to be elected as a minister or representative in the government, if the representative cannot really do the work we expected of him/her but rather behaving more like a subservient and cowardice in the government but like an emperor, a king or expecting us, because of our same race, to serve him/her like a 'lord' or quietly or clearly and abusively taking advantages of his/her position to accumulate wealth and grabbing all the opportunities for himself/herself, families or cronies rather than for the benefit of a larger community.

But if a representative is sincere in working for the betterment of the people and constituency he/she represents and for the betterment of the state then what the different if he/she is of different race.

Therefore it is not an issue or a matter to be taken as important and as a criteria when someone or a party who rhetorically declared they do not want to accept any representation for his/her race in the government if they were not to be voted in as representatives. Instead, it is better for this kind of politicians to be voted out for threatening us with such proposition or thinking that we hard up for their representation.

Perhaps, without this kind of politicians who constantly and unilaterally claim to represent us, we as the people of this wonderful motherland can live in a more meaningful, happy, properous and united as a single human race, without any or whatsoever kind of prejudices.

The Secret to Living Well on $40,000 a Year

by Kimberly Palmer

As Washington politicians debate whether earning $250,000 a year makes a family rich, special education teacher Danny Kofke has come up with a much lower threshold for wealth: The father of two says that his family of four can live well on his $40,000 a year salary — and you can, too. He explains how in his new book, "A Simple Book of Financial Wisdom," a follow-up to his first book, "How to Survive (and Perhaps Thrive) on a Teacher's Salary." US News spoke with Kofke about how he manages to stretch his income and his tips for others trying to do the same. Excerpts:

It's pretty impressive that you have supported your family of four on less than $40,000 a year. How did you do it?

This took long-term planning. Raising a family of four on my teacher's salary would be next to impossible if we had a huge mortgage and a lot of debt. Before we had children, my wife, Tracy, was a teacher, too. We had a plan for her to be able to stay at home once we had children. We weren't exactly sure when this would happen (this is for The Man Upstairs to decide), but we had an idea on when we would start trying.

We ended up being married four years before Ava was born. During this time, we tried to live off one of our teaching salaries and used the other one to pay off debt and establish an emergency fund. We were not sure how long Tracy would be able to stay home — we initially aimed for one year — but were able to have her stay home for six years and work part-time for one. We were able to do this even after having our younger daughter, Ella, three years after Ava. The key for us was the long-term planning.

Can anyone really succeed at this?

I do feel that almost anyone can. I know there are some that earn a lot less than I do or have more debt but I feel they can work towards this, too. I am not a financial major or a chief executive of a company. I have never even taken a financial class in my life. If this 35-year-old school teacher can learn the basics of money management and finances, then others can, too.

Tell us some of your more unusual advice, that we might not have heard before.

I think the biggest thing I have learned is if broke people are making fun of you and laughing at your ways, then you are doing something right. It was difficult to get mocked when Tracy was working and we chose to live off one salary while others were spending like there was no tomorrow. Many people told me to get off my wallet and spend money.

Pride is sometimes a hard thing to swallow, but I knew that many of these people were not making smart financial decisions and these decisions would eventually come back and hurt them. I don't know if it is unusual advice but, when making financial decisions, you have to do what is right for you and not be influenced by the many temptations that surround us.

What's the hardest financial rule for you to follow personally?

Living below my means is the toughest rule for me to follow. There are so many temptations — Madison Avenue spends billions of dollars each year to get our money — and sometimes I want to buy things I know I should not. When this occurs, I allow myself a 24-hour breather and, if I still feel strongly about buying that object after this time, I will discuss it with Tracy. The great thing is, after I let the emotional aspect have time to go away, my more rational side speaks to me and I make a sound decision.

How are you teaching your children about money?

Once my older daughter, Ava, turned three, we had her do simple household chores so we could teach her how to handle money. I am not a fan of rewarding others for things they should be doing anyway, but I did make an exception with Ava since my initial goal was to teach her money management skills.

We started with chores that were easy for her to complete: cleaning her room, brushing her teeth. Every night, we would check off the chores that were completed, and every Friday we added them up and she was paid. We called this money what most parents do: an allowance. No matter what you call it, make sure your child does the work to earn the money.

After Ava got paid (she could earn up to $1 each week), she had three jars: Give Away, Savings and Spending. She first put 10 cents in the Give Away jar, 25 cents in the Savings jar and the remaining amount in the Spending jar. This worked so well for us. When we were at the store, often Ava would see something she wanted. We never had any arguments; we would simply say, "We'll have to go home and see if you have enough money in your spending or savings jar to buy it."

Ava has used the money in her Give Away jar in numerous ways. One year there was a little girl at my school who lost her father shortly before Christmas. Ava used her Give Away money to buy this little girl a stuffed animal. Ava actually came to my school and delivered this to her personally. Another year, Ava used this money to buy canned food for needy families in our community. This past Christmas, there was a family at her school that was struggling. Ava used the money in her Give Away jar to buy them a gift card to a local grocery store.

If Ava continues to apply these lessons in life — gives away 10 percent of her money, then saves 25 percent of it and uses the remainder for spending — and goes above and beyond in her job, she will be wealthy in more ways than a fat bank account can show.

Einstein was wrong: relativity theory busted

PHYSICISTS have reported that sub-atomic particles called neutrinos can travel faster than light, a finding that, if verified, would be inconsistent with Einstein's theory of relativity.

In experiments conducted between the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland and a laboratory in Italy, the tiny particles were clocked at 300,006 kilometres per second, slightly faster that the speed of light, the researchers said today.

Robert Kuok - A Humble Man Who Love His Mother Forever

Tan Sri Robert Kuok, the man who has held pole position as Malaysia's richest man since 2006 when Forbes Asia began ranking the 40 richest Malaysians, said he did not like money. Nevertheless, he hopes his companies would continue to make profits so that all the employees would have bonuses. This year's bonus for his employees was considered "okay", he said.

Kuok speaks fluent Mandarin, attributing this to his mother who, he said, always taught them to remember their roots. He also singled out his mother as the person who had the most influence on him. She always advised him to be humble and to help the poor, and she hoped he would be a businessman with good ethics.

Kuok recalled the day he bought a Mercedes as a surprise birthday gift for his mother who was in her 80s then. "When my mother saw it, her face changed. She asked me why I had bought a luxury car when I could have just got a Japanese-made car," he said, adding that he sent the car back at his mother's behest.

Kuok said his mother recognised his talent for business and knew he would be successful one day. But she was worried that he would become an irresponsible businessman and had given him valuable advice, including reminding him not to be greedy.

She would be very happy with his achievement and if she were still alive now, she would remind him to "continue to be humble, continue to help the poor".

"My love for my mum will be forever," he said.
