The Cinakui...!

Edited from here.
.....
This brings us back to the subject of stereotyping all Chinese as being racist, which I believe is more cultural than actual racism.

To the Chinese, anything they find repulsive will constitute name-calling, which bring us to Chinese against Chinese.

Insults swirl as Hong Kong Chinese called mainland Chinese locusts and complained that mainland tourists bring their less-than-refined social habits and women on the verge of childbirth into the territory.

The Hong Kongers only want their bulging wallets but not their fetishistic bad manners.

The common Chinese term for anyone not Chinese is kui,  the lesser beings to the Chinese eyes. No other races are spared from the kui, including the kwailos that once ruled Hong Kong from 1841 to 1997 and one that have taught social finesse to the Hong Kong Chinese, who now feel, theirs, are of superior culture than the nouveau riche mainland Chinese.

P/S: What to deny when it's a fact! The most interesting part is the Chinese fight Chinese....

Devils or Angels!

Better to have DEVILS we know or ANGELS we don't?

Devils - are those who always have evil intention and do bad things, that's why they are called devils!  And because we know they are evils that's why we labelled them devils! Then what better do we need them?

Angels - are those who we believe will do good things even we don't know who they are. That's why they are called angels, if not then they are devils too!

Who you prefer...?  Devils you know or Angels you don't!

Saya Rakyat Marhaen Biasa

Dipetik dari nukilan Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin

"Setiap kita mengetahui siapakah diri kita.

A Diamond Planet

By Chris Wickham

Orbiting a star that is visible to the naked eye, astronomers have discovered a planet twice the size of our own made largely out of diamond.

The rocky planet, called '55 Cancri e', orbits a sun-like star in the constellation of Cancer and is moving so fast that a year there lasts a mere 18 hours.

Discovered by a U.S.-Franco research team, its radius is twice that of Earth's but it is much more dense with a mass eight times greater. It is also incredibly hot, with temperatures on its surface reaching 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit (1,648 Celsius).

"The surface of this planet is likely covered in graphite and diamond rather than water and granite," said Nikku Madhusudhan, the Yale researcher whose findings are due to be published in the journal Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The study - with Olivier Mousis at the Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planetologie in Toulouse, France - estimates that at least a third of the planet's mass, the equivalent of about three Earth masses, could be diamond.

Diamond planets have been spotted before but this is the first time one has been seen orbiting a sun-like star and studied in such detail.

"This is our first glimpse of a rocky world with a fundamentally different chemistry from Earth," Madhusudhan said, adding that the discovery of the carbon-rich planet meant distant rocky planets could no longer be assumed to have chemical constituents, interiors, atmospheres, or biologies similar to Earth.
David Spergel, an astronomer at Princeton University, said it was relatively simple to work out the basic structure and history of a star once you know its mass and age.

On Being Chinese Malaysian

Edited from an article by Dorcas Lam

.... I proudly call myself a Chinese Malaysian because I am a native of Malaysia with a Chinese ancestry. I am first and foremost a Malaysian, and Chinese is an adjective that describes my cultural heritage. Since multiculturalism is that which makes Malaysia so unique, using an adjective to complement my national identity as a Malaysian is a celebration of this diversity.

Why should I be deprived of the right to call myself a full Malaysian? And why must I be forced to identify myself with the nation of China when I have never even set foot on Chinese soil? I pledge my allegiance to no other flag but the Jalur Gemilang.

To those who frequently tell us Chinese Malaysians to balik tongsan, let me tell you that my tongsan is Kuala Lumpur because I was born here and I have spent all my life here, with many more to come, Lord willing. I believe that I have every right to call myself a Malaysian, and I will certainly not give in to anyone who attempts to rob me of my proud identity as a Chinese Malaysian.
